  • Our character education throughout the year is framed as the “Rocket R’s.” Each quarter students are learning about being Respectful, Responsible, & Resilient. Congratulations to our 3rd Quarter SOAR Award winners:

    • Kindergarten: Ethan Brooks

    • 1st: Lillian Chandler, Parker Gaines, & Sutton Krause

    • 2nd: Karsyn Menacher & Savanna Smith

    • 3rd: Aubrey Ellis & Cambria Kirby

    • 4th: Lexi LeForge & Zach Ruhter

    • 5th: Cash Sutherland & Molly Kleiss

  • 3rd Quarter report cards will be sent home after spring break on Friday, March 24.

  • Spread the word - Kindergarten Orientation Night will be held at East on Monday, April 3 from 6-7pm. Meet our Kindergarten teachers and office staff, tour classrooms, and find out how you can help your child prepare for his or her first day as a Unity Rocket! Kindergarten is open to students turning 5 by Sept. 1, 2023.

  • Students in grades 3-5 take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness the week of April 11-14. We ask that appointments and absences for students be limited as much as possible this week.

  • Save the Date: More information will be provided for these events as details are finalized.

    • Skate Night with Unity West at Skateland on Thursday, April 6, 6-8pm.

    • Spring Cleanup Morning at East on Saturday, April 15, 9-11am. Families are welcome to volunteer together to help cleanup the school grounds (there will be donuts).

    • PTO Movie Night with Unity West on the High School Football Field on Friday, May 12.

    • Fine Arts Festival and Book Fair at East on Tuesday, May 16, 6-8pm.

  • Our fourth annual Unity East Read-a-thon was a great success! Students read over 90,000  minutes and raised over $12,000 in support for our school. Thank you to everyone who helped and who contributed to our Read-a-thon!

  • This quarter all of our students will be enjoying end-of-year field trips. Thanks to the generous support during our two fundraisers, the PTO is able to cover bus expenses and the Read-a-thon funds are covering field trip fees this school year.

  • East received two substantial donations from our community that we want to recognize. A special thank you to both an anonymous community member and Countryside United Methodist for donations to the Rocket Pack Program. We are truly grateful for support from our community!

In Partnership,

Mr. Carver, Principal
