Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 24, 3:00-9:30pm. Sign-up for available times through links on the East website or by contacting the school office. Fundraiser items will be available to pick up in the gym and Rockets Spirit Wear will be on sale.
Fall Picture Retakes will be taken on Tuesday, October 29.
Our Halloween Parade and classroom parties will be held on Thursday, October 31 from 1:45-2:45pm. Visitors are welcome to enter at 1:20 to sign in and either find a seat in the gymnasium for the parade or help with costume changes. We ask that guests not arrive before 1:20. Information and guidelines are available on the East Website.
Special thanks to the East PTO for their recent purchase of new classroom rugs, a mobile Chromebook lab, and funding for family night events at the school. Many of the items and events we enjoy at East are made possible through our PTO and the fundraiser participation of our families. Thank you!
The first season of Girls on the Run at Unity East is underway and will finish with a 5k run at the Stephens Family YMCA on Sunday, November 3. We are proud of all the girls who have participated this fall and appreciate the time and investment of families and our volunteer coaches, Mrs. Long and Mrs. Lemke.
Save the Date - the Fall Family Night & Scholastic Book Fair will be the evening of Thursday, November 21, to celebrate Illinois Family Reading Night. Our evening will tie into Veterans Day with a patriotism and citizenship theme. A pizza dinner will be provided free of charge.
On Friday, November 8, Unity East will host our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon & Veterans Day Program. All senior citizens and veterans are welcome to attend our luncheon at 12:05pm, followed by our Veterans Day Program at 1:00pm.
Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Grade Music concerts will be held in December, with the K/1 concert on December 11, and the 2/3 concert on December 17. Details about each concert will be sent home with students. Each concert begins at 7pm in the Unity East gymnasium.
Rocket Fridays: Each Friday Unity East celebrates school spirit by wearing our Rockets gear.
